24 Aug “To Change Attitude is the Key”
What did the fish say when he ran into the Wall? –“DAM”– “You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated. In fact, it may be necessary to encounter the defeats, so you can know who you are, what you can rise from, how you can still come out of it.”
“Attitude” has a few definitions but my favourite “a complex mental state involving beliefs and feelings and values and dispositions to act in certain ways”
I now go to work everyday with a positive attitude and every situation in life I try to take it in a positive way. There are a lot negative things around, but you need to try to be positive as much as you can, and things will fall in place. As a military career comes to too an end I have learnt from my experience and grown within heart and soul. I have been inspired by many of my colleagues over the years, it is my mantra that all my clients find a little piece of inspiration within me so I can try and make a positive change in their own life’s. Now, don’t get me wrong, my career and life has not always been a long boat smooth sailing the canal waters and dealing with grief, trauma, ill health and relationships, my attitude has not always been on point, but having the skills to be able to manage it has saved me many times.
Life is about balance and having a successful attitude means learning how to choose the right attitude at the right time and finding that balance in your own life. If one tries to be positive 100% of the time, I believe a breaking point will eventually occur, and probably impact negatively in important areas of your life. The same could be said about motivation getting hyped up for your one training session of the week or eating well for 3 days of the week this is a benefit to your health but it will do nothing to change you.
In 95% of the population motivation does not last for many extrinsic factors, we need to inspire to someone to change our attitude.
A successful attitude is productive and constructive and should help you get where you want to go in life and help you achieve you goals, not hold you back. A successful attitude should be helpful (not a hinderance) in important areas in your life. There are hundreds Personal Trainers in this industry who can motivate, change your physique and provide you with temporary wellbeing. I see most my clients for an hour every 2 or 3 weeks, I have worked out that the client needs more than my skill, knowledge and motivation.
I am amongst many Personal Trainers, Fitness Coaches and Rehabilitation Instructors who give you motivational quotes weekly by the social media tools but this is an extrinsic avenue which if it helps one person out of a thousand then I am proud to be part of that change.
All my qualifications in the fitness industry mean absolutely nothing unless I can influence the intrinsic factor to attitude. My business is about inspiring to give you the skill and knowledge to enhance your ATTITUDE. I hope not for a temporary change but a long term lifestyle difference, this will happen if you do it for yourself not for anyone else. Once I have that belief my work with you becomes so much easier.
